History
History of Oakleigh Anglican Church

As Holy Trinity, this parish has existed since the earliest days of Victoria with our first minister, the Rev’d Henry William Liddiard being appointed in 1851. The Holy Trinity site features the first purpose worship building (now Liddiard Gallery) within the Malvern Valley Area (1858). You can read all about our 150 year history in a new book published in 2008, “Holy Trinity – A Pioneering Church on the Crossroads”. The Emmanuel Anglican Church was created as a daugther church of Holy Trinity in 1926 and became a separate parish in 1947. In 2003 it reunited with Holy Trinity and we now go on together as OAC. Over the years 30 ministers have served this parish at either centre.
