Emmanuel Kindergarten
Since early 2,000’s, Oakleigh Anglican Church saw the need for a designated space for pre-school children to learn and grow, in an environment that promoted and valued such development, whilst still maintaining the care and respect and values fostered through being affiliated to a Christian Community. Though the kindergarten has been functioning for much longer that the 2,000’s, (30 years or so,) it was setting up this dedicated space, along with the professionalism and dedication of the teachers and assistants of this kindergarten, that has allowed ‘Emmanuel Kindergarten’ to excel as a pre-school learning facility. Emmanuel Kindergarten runs each weekday on the Emmanuel site, offering education to both 3YO and 4YO pre-schoolers. Enquiries can be made by phone 03 9569 7117.
Religious Education in Schools
Oakleigh Anglican Church is involved in presenting Christian Religious Education classes at five local primary schools. The material used is provided through Access Ministries, fully compatible with the Victorian Legislation for Religious Education. Grades prep through to Grade 6 are covered throughout the year, and at the end of the year, some special Christmas celebration is included. OAC sees this ministry as vital within our local community, as for some, this is their introduction and only connection with God.
