2 Corinthians 1 8-22
Faithfulness of God and to God.

Alisdair brings us a clear message of God's faithfulness and how we interact with our own faithfulness.  He leaves us with 6 points on which to meditate.

1. God is faithful even when we suffer. Through suffering God teaches us to rely on Him.
2. God delivers us as we trust Him, partially in this life; but eternal deliverance is absolutely guaranteed.
3. God gives us one another for a reason; He answers prayer so when we go through all kinds of awkward and threatening stuff we need others to be praying for us.
4. Just as Paul saw his faithfulness expressed in his clear conscience, so we can test our faithfulness to God and to one another through knowing we have a clear conscience before God
5. Just as Paul saw his faithfulness expressed through his motivations for doing what he did so we can test our faithfulness to God and one another through considering our motives for all our own actions.
6. Just as Paul saw his faithfulness expressed through his confidence in God’s anointing of him, so we can test our faithfulness to God and to one another through our assurance and confidence in our own anointing for service as part of Christ’s body for we are called to be a royal priesthood.
